Jahaji: Delivery policy

At Jahaji Limited, we facilitate the seamless transport of bulk commodities and the timely positioning of vessels. This policy outlines the standards and procedures for deliveries made through our platform.

1. Scope of Delivery

“Delivery” on the Jahaji platform refers to:

  • The arrival and positioning of a booked vessel at the designated loading/unloading point.

  • The physical delivery of bulk commodities (sand, stone, coal, etc.) purchased through the Jahaji Marketplace.

2. Vessel Deployment & Timeline

  • Booking Confirmation: Once a booking is confirmed via the app, the estimated time of arrival (ETA) of the vessel will be shared with the hirer.

  • Real-Time Tracking: Customers can track the live location of their shipment/vessel through the Jahaji App to monitor progress in real-time.

  • Delays: While we strive for punctuality, arrival times are subject to river tides, weather conditions, and port congestion. Jahaji is not liable for delays caused by “Force Majeure” (natural disasters or government restrictions).

3. Commodity Delivery (Marketplace)

For goods purchased through our marketplace:

  • Point of Delivery: Goods are typically delivered “On Board” (at the vessel) or at the designated Ghat/Terminal as specified in the purchase order.

  • Verification: The buyer or an authorized representative must be present at the time of delivery to verify the quantity and quality of the goods.

  • Proof of Delivery (POD): Once the goods are unloaded or the vessel reaches the destination, the trip must be marked as “Completed” in the Jahaji App, which serves as the digital Proof of Delivery.

4. Shipping Charges & Levies

  • Freight Rates: Delivery charges (freight) are calculated based on the distance, load capacity, and current market fuel rates. The final rate will be visible at the time of booking.

  • Demurrage: If delivery is delayed due to the buyer’s inability to unload the vessel within the agreed-upon free time, demurrage (waiting fees) will apply as per the vessel owner’s standard terms.

5. Inspection and Disputes

  • Customers are encouraged to inspect the cargo immediately upon arrival.

  • Any discrepancies in quantity (tonnage) or quality must be reported to the Jahaji Support Team via the SOS feature in the app or by calling our hotline within 12 hours of the vessel’s arrival.

6. Delivery Locations

We currently facilitate deliveries across all major inland water routes in Bangladesh, including major ports like Chittagong, Mongla, Payra, and various riverine ghats in Dhaka, Narayanganj, and Khulna.
